Adobe Photoshop (Adobe Photoshop CS6)

Photoshop is often a prerequisite for many other software programs, and is the one program that everyone in every area of digital media should know.

Adobe Illustrator (Adobe Illustrator CS6)

Adobe Illustrator is an essential design tool for anyone who needs to express ideas visually in print, on the web, and in any other medium. The vast majority of company logos and major signage see in print or online will have been created in Illustrator - it's an essential tool for any graphic designer.

Corel DRAW (Corel DRAW X5)

CorelDRAW is a feature-packed vector graphics suite which includes a large collection of fonts and clip art. A full range of editing tools allows designer to produce illustrations of just about any description via the ability to edit any shape or character with ease and precision, generate text both in paragraph or headline style, fit text to curves and objects and add special effects.

Objectives

  • Develop graphic design work and concepts based on creative approaches and techniques.
  • Prepare images for Web and print output with appropriate sizing and resolution.
  • Select and set typography to communicate a specific message in logo designs and page layouts.
  • Design logos and cohesive corporate brand identities for selected current market products.( letterhead, business cards, Broachers, and other elements)
  • Research and design logos for three different companies, exploring differences in concept development.
  • Research and redesign a TV network's logo to change or better present its identity.
  • Organize work for use in physical and online design portfolios and produce a final portfolio piece that involves printing, labelling, package design, and photography.
